Zambia's in-camp spa treatments

chinzombo spa treatments

In-camp spa treatments are offered in the privacy of your individual villa or chalet at ChinzomboKapani.

Under the leadership and direction of Putu Ari who ran North Island’s spa for many years, a team of local women have been trained and will astound the most discerning guests with their massage techniques using oils, scrubs and essences created onsite, from all natural ingredients and local plants and leaves. The professional, ‘homemade’ scrubs, oils and facial cleansers comprise ingredients such as neem leaf, lemongrass, almond and peppermint. Ari believes in keeping things simple and effective and guarantees a healthy and purely natural experience.

The signature treatment is a two-hour pampering. It combines a body scrub and polish handmade using healing herbal plants from the area. This is followed by a splendidly-soothing, full-body massage designed to balance the body’s meridians and energise body, mind and soul.

The spa team will assess your needs and advise on the best treatment to choose.

Spa Trainer & Manager - Ni Luh Putu Sukenari (Ari)

I was born and raised in the delicate Eastern tradition, being born in Bali off Indonesia where we have a unique culture, amazing rice field terraces, green forest landscapes and the peaceful ocean surrounding the island.

I have always loved nature, the sound of wildlife and the sound of the birds singing early in morning like a wake-up call. However being here in Zambia is a completely different wildlife experience to that in which I grew up. For example, getting “stuck” in my room because I was surrounded by a herd of elephant has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful.

I love this career; learning from teachers who treat ailments using natural products; learning from my native culture and traditions where natural ingredients are used to treat your body and health and learning from nature, which has arranged everything in harmony for us to live our life and thrive. Running the Spa is what I love to do, creating treatments and helping others; it is a very energizing role.

I bring over 14 years experience, a Beauty Diploma, Spa Trainer/Management accreditation and 500 hour RYT Yoga Teacher Course before arriving in Zambia in 2013. I have spent 18 months training a team of local Mfuwe women in a unique blend of traditional and modern massage and body therapy techniques with an emphasis on sustainable use of natural ingredients. We hope you enjoy your time with us!
