Bush Camps (Luwi, Nsolo, Kakuli, Mchenja) Images

We have four luxury bushcamps in the South Luangwa National Park: Luwi, Nsolo, Kakuli and Mchenja. Each is individually designed with its own personality, giving a very different feel as you move from camp to camp. These pictures will help to give an idea of how the camps differ.

Mchenja occupies a stunning setting beneath a magnificent grove of ebony trees on the banks of the Luangwa river in an area teaming with wildlife. The camp comprises five stylishly designed tents each under its own thatched roof with a deck in front overlooking the Luangwa river.

Kakuli is situated on the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa rivers. The gameviewing and night drive safaris in this area are some of the best in Zambia. Five spacious, traditional safari tents under shady thatched roofs overlook the river, with stunning views up and down this hippo-packed stretch of the Luangwa.

One of the South Luangwa's more remote, luxury walking safari camps, Nsolo is situated on a bend in the Luwi sand river in an area renowned for its lion population. Accommodation consists of four individually designed chalets with raised wooden decks, high thatched roofs and private verandahs from which the wildlife frequenting a waterhole in the dry river-bed in front of the camp may be viewed.

Luwi is nestled under huge mahogany trees on the banks of a permanent lagoon which attracts wildlife from far and wide making the camp area constantly busy with animals. Accommodation is in four grass and thatch huts with polished mud floors. Each room utilises existing trees and natural vegetation wherever possible, lending the camp a rustic appeal and providing a truly African bush experience.
