Luangwa Lion Cubs - Family Safaris

Seven night safari specially designed for families, with dedicated specialist private guide and vehicle. Based at Kapani Lodge and Norman Carr Safaris' remote and wild bushcamps in the South Luangwa National Park, one of the world's finest wildlife destinations.

Elephant Encounter	Planting Young Trees
Game drives are tailored with children in mind, meals are served at times convenient to the family and a whole range of family activities are on offer.
With an expert guide and scout, become a game ranger for the day. Track game on foot and learn how to identify footprints and droppings. Learn some of the local language and share stories about the differences (and similarities) in our lives. Visit the local school and meet the children, perhaps have a game of football and join in with lessons. Meet the challenge of our wildlife quiz – your guide will help you with some of the more fiendish questions! Learn how to make a traditional clay pot in the village and mould your own clay animals to take home. Become an African drummer and learn how to play traditional African rhythms. As night falls – see if you can identify the noises of the night, do some stargazing and hear traditional stories around the camp fire.

Families with children aged between between 8 and 12 years can also spend time in one of our riverside camps deep inside the national park and experience the true wilderness. For children of 12 years and over, Luwi and Nsolo, our very wild walking camps can also be included for a night or two.

"Thank you to all the staff at NCS who have succeeded in changing our lives!! Especially to Levi our guide whose patience and joy in sharing the secrets and wonders of the bush with us and generosity in inviting us to meet his family we will never forget. The children especially left Zambia with their horizons broadened beyond our imagination. No more do they whine about having to go to school, as they learnt from meeting the Yosefe school children what a privilege it IS to go to school! They are so into wildlife programmes now and appear to have forgotten about their usual trashy TV! For them to know that there is a whole world out there of wonder and beauty is inspiring; but particularly moving has been their reaction to meeting children who are not so lucky as they are. They have both started fundraising at their schools and Holly even did a little presentation in class of her experiences with the wildlife and the people of the valley. We still say Zikomo instead of thank you and Tommo keeps asking if we can sit on the ground under a tree and eat with our hands, Zambian style!
