Anita, September 2009
Wow wow wow - what can I say, we had the most utterly truly fantastic totally brilliant time at your camps. Going direct from London to J'burg, Lusaka, Mfuwe and Nsolo was an amazing experience, with a super warm welcome especially from Priya and Shaddy. They couldn't have done a better job. Priya fits the role perfectly, charming, helpful, interested and makes it all look seamless while I know there's lots of hard work behind the scenes. Shaddy clearly knows his stuff and is passionate about the world he works in. We loved the walking safaris, even though we saw less than on the later jeep drives, we were a part of the surroundings and realised Shaddy is a font of information on everything from plant life, animal droppings, birds and animals themselves and a pleasure to be with.
We walked to Luwi which was a wonderful experience too. There we loved the lagoon and being able to see hippos, Bismarck the croc, elephants etc in such close proximity to the camp. The whole rustic-ness of the camp was wonderful - don't ever change it! Brian did a great job of walking us around the lagoon and trying to avoid upsetting a herd of elephants who kept trying to come our way despite our efforts to dodge them!
Then the drive to Mchenja. Great to see a whole different area of the park AND the most incredible sightings. Wild dogs, lion killing a buffolo, lion who ended up sniffing around the jeep and settling in its shade, baby elephants, giraffes, a leopard, eagles among others and just stunning.
It seemed wherever we looked there was yet more wildlife. Innocent was truly amazingly able to find animals, explain everything, he reads animals brilliantly and is such a lovely interesting person. He and Batwell (the 'gun-man'!) and Mindi were the best team.
Thank you SO incredibly much for all your help, advice, planning and organising this trip for us. We're definitely going to advise friends to experience safari with you if they ask (and even if they don't!)
