Teresa and Will, August 2010
To all at Norman Carr Safaris,
We have just returned from our honeymoon in Zambia - during which we spent a week with Norman Carr safaris. We wanted to write and say what a fantastic time we had. We booked via Hartley's Safaris in the UK, who recommended Norman Carr to us - and spent 7 nights travelling between Kapani, Luwi, Nsolo and Kakuli.
We so much enjoyed all our walks and drives (particularly the walks - we originally chose Zambia because we had been told that it specialised in walking safaris and are so glad that we did - it was such a special experience to spend hours walking through the bush, through the different landscapes and noticing all the little things that you would never see from a vehicle). We were impressed each day by the outstanding level of knowledge that our guides (we were guided by Brian, Andrew, Shaddy and Simon over the week) had about absolutely everything that we saw.
All the staff we met at each camp we stayed at were brilliant - they really could not have done more for us. All the hosts we met at the camps (Mouse at Luwi, Glen at Kakuli and Charlotta - who we spent several days with - although we did not visit Mchenja - as we were lucky enough to be travelling with her and her Mother who was out visiting for some of the week) were so welcoming and looked after us so well. We were amazed by the truly high quality of the food that the kitchen staff produced - miles out in the bush. We were particularly touched by a one-week wedding anniversary cake that Charlotta organised for us and the kitchen staff at Nsolo had baked!
The camps were all very special places to stay and we have wonderful memories of each.
Please do pass on our thanks again to all involved - you are employing some fantastic people!
We will certainly be recommending Norman Carr to anyone thinking of a safari holiday.
