A company is only as good as its staff. The people who have written about themselves on these pages are some of the people who will help to make your safari a memorable journey. There are however, many others, some you will meet and some you won't, who play a big part in making Norman Carr Safaris what it is today.

I came to Zambia from the UK in 1992 and was lucky enough to find myself at Kapani and safely under the wing of Norman Carr. It was a privilege to learn the ways of the bush from such a master and the 5 years I spent with Norman before his death helped shape my life.
I spend most of my time at a computer now and very little at the wheel of a cruiser or the head of a walk but they are treats I have not forgotten and still enjoy to share |

I arrived in the Luangwa Valley in 2000, after working in the safari industry in Zimbabwe and Botswana. I joined Norman Carr Safaris in February 2004 as the general manager, having previously worked for Star of Africa in South Luangwa national park.
I am based at Kapani Lodge and take care of the operational side of the business, but spend far too much time behind a desk and look for any excuse to get out of the office and into the bush. |

We arrived in Africa early in 2004 and travelled extensively for a year.
With several years of tourism experience already gained in New Zealand and Australia we chose to take a management post in a lodge in the Lower Zambezi. In April of 2007 we made the move from the Zambezi to the Luangwa valley and are looking forward to our time with Norman Carr Safaris.
Our roles here will undoubtedly be multi-faceted but we will be spending a lot of our time up front at both Kapani and the bushcamps.

It is an honour and a great privilege to be able to work in one of Africa's best Parks. Trained by the legendary Norman Carr I have over 15 years bush experience. Many a time, guests will ask if I still enjoy guiding. I still do and love it! For one, the book of nature is so vast and there is always something new to see if one is observant enough. Meeting people from all walks of life, sharing with them what the bush can offer and catering to their varied interest is a lot of fun. One of the things guests love about me is my genuine enthusiasm about nature.
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel overseas, once to California USA and 3 times to England. My travel experience has tremendously enhanced the love of what I do. |

I joined Norman Carr Safaris in 1996 straight from school. I had three career aspirations; to study Journalism because of my passion for writing, Law and Management because of my leadership roles in school. Amongst the three, I am happy to say I am practising Journalism everyday by corresponding with agents on email and went on to read management with UNISA – school of Business Leadership.
I have performed numerous managerial and administrative duties for Norman Carr Safaris over the years.
My affinity for writing and interacting with people has kept me going and currently I am assisting Christina and Nick to manage reservations, sales and marketing. |

I arrived in Zambia in 2000 for what was supposed to be a six-month spell in the bush before returning to “real life” in the UK.
I never went back and am still at Kapani with Adrian (Norman Carr's son)
I look after reservations and Marketing and am involved in many local community projects including Kakumbi Clinic, a local school and HIV/AIDS awareness rising. |

After graduating from college as the "Best Student in Travel and Tourism Operations" I decided that a move from the city to the bush was in order and I joined Norman Carr Safaris in 2005.
I started in Front of House, and enjoyed meeting with all our guests but I have now moved to an administrative role and concentrate on reservations and marketing. Last year I undertook a correspondence course with Cambridge College in the UK and hope to be able to carry on studying whilst I work. |

I started guide training in January 1998 and became a guide in June of the same year under Mfuwe Lodge. I left Zambia for Malawi where I spent four and half years conducting mobile safaris from Malawi to Mozambique, Zambia and southern Kenya. Whilst in Malawi I also worked for Wilderness Safaris and conducted special birding trips.
I joined Norman Carr Safaris in 2003. |

My training was done under the supervision of Mr. Phil S. Berry and Vernon Bailey at Chinzombo Safari Lodge.
I obtained my licence of professional guide in 1993 and did most of my guiding at Chinzombo and their bushcamps until 1997. I then joined Wilderness Trails and did a lot of mobile safaris towards the North of the Notional Park.
In 1998 I joined Norman Carr Safaris and I was sent to their bush camp Nsolo. Since then I am still with Norman Carr Safaris. Nsolo bush camp has became the second home of my life and it is my heart. |

I got onto guiding in 1996 under Wild Zambia Safaris. I joined Norman Carr Safaris in 1999 as a grade 2 guide and went up the ladder of success
Being in this career has enabled me to meet people of different backgrounds be it cultural, political, religious, etc. Not only have I known a lot about other people, but I have also come to accept who I am and what I am and to adjust myself where necessary. More over I have come to realize and respect the things around me. |

I was trained by Norman Carr from 1995 – 1996, I started guiding as a grade 2 guide in 1996 at Kapani Lodge. I got my grade 1 certificate in 1999 and since then I have been conducting walking safaris in all the Norman Carr Safaris bushcamps. I became the camp manager for Mchenja in 2005.
In April 2005 I was sent to Canada for more guiding exposure.
I take myself to be very lucky to have the chance of speaking about the nature around me. I like to meet guests of any nationality, and to learn about them. |

I started training to be a guide in 1995 while working for Savannah Trails. I became a professional safari guide in April 1996 under the guidance of Norman Carr.
I joined Norman Carr safaris in 1997 and have since worked at all the four bush camps but mostly based at Kapani.
My passion for guiding has been further enhanced by the professionalism and the many years of safari history that Norman Carr Safaris has attained. |
